Director Day – Carpentry Shop

Recently, Director Steve Sharkey worked with Charles Jeffries (Mr. Jeff) from the Carpentry shop. Together they helped repair parts of Baltimore’s Safety City. DGS is helping to repair some of the houses on the location. The two attached boards to strengthen the structures. Additionally, DGS contractors are now there repairing the roofs.

Mr. Jeff has worked for the City for 28 years; his specialty is creating custom cabinets and bookshelves. Mr. Jeff has also spent 40 years as a baker in East Baltimore.

Safety City, located in Druid Hill Park, teaches Baltimore City children about pedestrian and motor safety – which helps to keep them safe.
