DGS Earns "Best Use of Data and Evidence" Award

The Department of General Services was recently recognized for its contribution to the Outcome Budget process: it received the award for “Best use of Data and Evidence”.  The Department’s Facilities Management budget submission—which provided narrative on threats, challenges and successes of  maintaining city buildings and adequate capital planning—quantified and explained changes in key performance indicators buttressing Mayoral objectives.   The proposal was identified as a model for its incorporation of operational-data based action items, use of supporting academic research, its  evidence based approach and the use of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
